Harley-Davidson Teases the Sprint, Its Most Affordable Motorcycle Yet

October 20, 2026

Harley-Davidson continues to tease the upcoming Sprint. New teasers for the motorcycle have appeared on social media. The model is expected to become the brand’s most affordable offering, but the latest video revealed nothing new, and the company has not announced a launch date. Visordown suggests the motorcycle could be unveiled at EICMA in Milan in early November or at the UK’s Motorcycle Live show.

The Sprint first appeared in Harley-Davidson’s plans in May 2026. During the company’s quarterly earnings presentation on May 5, CEO Artie Starks announced a strategy aimed at making the brand more accessible without requiring major investment in new engines and platforms. The strategy also includes the return of the Sportster, which was dropped from the lineup in 2022 due to emissions regulations. The Sprint was initially promised for 2026, but its launch now appears to have been pushed back to 2027.

Harley-Davidson upcoming Sprint

The name itself is not new. Sprint was the name of a lightweight motorcycle produced by Italian manufacturer Aermacchi in the 1960s. Harley-Davidson acquired a 50% stake in the company in 1960 to fill the gap between the small 125cc Hummer and larger V-twin models. The first Sprint motorcycles, powered by 250cc single-cylinder engines, appeared in the early 1960s. Harley’s previous attempts to enter the small-displacement motorcycle segment with the Street 500 and Street 750 failed to achieve widespread success.

Pricing remains the biggest mystery. Harley initially indicated a target price of around $6,000, but in May the company began talking about a price below $10,000.

Harley-Davidson has not officially revealed the motorcycle’s specifications. According to Australian publication AMCN, judging by the illustration shown during the company’s May presentation, the Sprint could be based on the Harley-Davidson X 440. This is a 440cc single-cylinder motorcycle with air-oil cooling, jointly produced with Hero MotoCorp in the Indian state of Rajasthan and sold in India since 2023. The X 440 produces a claimed 27 hp (20 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It has a kerb weight of around 190 kg, and its power output falls within the limits of Europe’s A2 motorcycle licence category.

Harley-Davidson has not confirmed these details, and neither the country of manufacture nor the final price has been announced. According to Motorrad und Reisen, a European launch is considered likely, although no exact timeframe has been given.
